Welcome to my therapy website

'One of the deepest longings of the human soul is to be seen.'

John O'Donohue

Are you experiencing anxiety?

Many people go through an episode in their life when they experience stress, anxiety or depression. This may be a result of a variety of circumstances including bereavement or trauma, work issues, relationships and family difficulties. For some these experiences seem never ending and pervasive so it can feel good talk to a trained counsellor or therapist. Someone who will be empathic: who will really hear what you are saying and allow you to go at your own pace.

My name is Áine and I completed my first therapy training in 1997, more than 25 years ago.
I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a professional, safe, and confidential environment, and have been practising as a counsellor and psychotherapist in West London, notably the Fulham and Hammersmith area for many years.

As a relational Integrative and Attachment-Focused Psychotherapist I draw on a number of therapeutic traditions which emphasise the importance of relationships both old and new, and the capacity for personal growth and healing.
Integrative therapy incorporates theories and practices from the main traditions of counselling and therapy, without privileging one above any other. It incorporates qualities such as empathy and genuineness alongside an approach aimed at gaining insight into the habitual and learned patterns and styles we use in relationship to ourselves and others.
Being a relational therapist means I bring myself into the transactional relationship and can offer feedback to you. I don't believe in being a passive nodding spectator, and this active approach comes from many years of experience.
As well as using talking therapy, I work in West London providing creative arts therapy and I believe using creative, expressive methods can be a powerful and unique way of working with a client to help them when they are ready, to tell their story in a safe and accessible way.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I am a qualified and HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) Registered Arts Therapist.

In addition to practising as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I have also trained as a clinical supervisor and I offer clinical supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors/therapists and organisations.

Both the Hammersmith and Fulham locations for therapy and counselling are near to Kensington, Earls Court, and Parsons Green, and are within a short walking distance from bus and tube stations.
